Opening ceremony of the 229th AUN-QA programme assessment

On the morning of August 23, 2021, there was an online opening ceremony of the assessment according to the quality assessment standards of the Southeast Asian University Network (AUN-QA) for 03 training programs in Hospitality Management., Banking, and Corporate Finance of the University of Economics, together with the English Teacher Program of the University of Foreign Languages, the University of Danang. The composition of the AUN inspection team includes experts from the Philippines, Thailand and Malaysia:

On the side of the University of Danang, there was the presence of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - Director, Assoc. Dr. Le Quang Son - Deputy Director and Assoc. Dr. Dinh Thanh Viet - Head of Education Quality Assurance Committee. The representative of the unit whose program was evaluated included Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan - Rector of University of Economics and Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Huu Phuc - Rector of the University of Foreign Languages, the University of Danang. and leaders of faculties, departments and centers of the two universities.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan - Rector of the University of Economics on behalf of the University of Economics and University of Foreign Languages said at the opening ceremony: “I am honored to warmly welcome excellent assessors to The 229th AUN-QA quality programme assessment.
Since its establishment, the University of Economics and the University of Foreign Languages have always affirmed their leading positions in the Vietnamese higher education system. In the past 4 years, 7 programs of the two universities have been recognized by the Quality Assurance Council of the ASEAN University Network, leading to the University of Danang being ranked 3rd in Vietnam in terms of the number of the international standard program. This result also motivates our two universities to continuously work to improve the quality of education and towards the goal of achieving AUN-QA accreditation standards at the grassroots level.
And today, we warmly welcome the excellent assessors of AUN who evaluated and gave actual feedback on the application for the next 3 programs of the University of Economics, including Banking, Business Finance, etc. Business Administration, Hotel Management and 01 study program of the University of Foreign Languages, namely English Teacher Education. We are confident that the ASEAN Universities Network, with the aim of improving the quality of higher education institutions in the ASEAN region, will assist our universities in obtaining assessments and excellent feedback to continue to improve our quality. I hope we will continue to strengthen the partnership and cooperation between the ASEAN Universities Network and the University of Danang.

Then, the assessment team watched the introductory video clip of the two schools. University of Economics, UD is one of the leading universities in Vietnam. With more than 45 years of experience in the field of education and training, the University of Economics has played an important role in providing a high-quality labor force majoring in economics and business for Vietnam and other countries. ASEAN countries, contributing a part to the overall development of the country. The university currently has 12 faculties, 01 affiliated subject, 08 function rooms, 8 centers, 01 library with more than 405 officers and employees including 03 professors, 22 associate professors, 95 doctorates and 197 masters. Most of the lecturers are graduates from prestigious universities.
The University of Economics is currently training 29 undergraduate majors; 7 master majors and 5 doctoral majors, with the current annual enrollment of about 3,000 students of all training systems. In addition, the university's international partner network is constantly expanding, contributing to realizing students' dreams of studying abroad as well as enhancing knowledge exchange between scientists around the world.

The assessment and accreditation of education quality according to AUN-QA standards for these 3 training programs will take place from August 23 to August 27, 2021.
Previously, the University of Economics, UD had 5 training majors that were successfully accredited according to AUN-QA international standards: Business Administration, Accounting, Auditing, International Business, Marketing.
The opening ceremony of the 229th AUN-QA accreditation program attracted many experts.
