SPORTS FESTIVAL FOR UNIVERSITIES IN DA NANG: A VICTORIOUS ENDING FOR UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS TEAM

On the afternoon of April 24th, at Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports, the Closing Ceremony of the Sports Festival for Universities in Da Nang in the academic year 2020-2021 took place. With 02 gold medals in men's football and men's singles badminton, the University of Economics - University of Danang team finished the sports festival successfully and made progress through each tournament.

Regarding the men's singles badminton, athlete Tran Huu Phung showed impressive performance and won all the matches to defend his gold medal at the 2019 festival.

In the men's football, all the players competed with unity, discipline and certainty in each match to top Group A without losing a single match. Defeating the Danang University of Architecture in the penalty shootout in the semi-finals, DUE team faced the home team of Danang University of Physical Education and Sports. Even though the opponent was highly rated and posssessed home-field advantage, DUE players still devoted all of their efforts to bring a nice performance and finally won the match with the result 3-1, thereby becoming the Champion of Men's football tournament. Besides, with 9 goals, player Ho Sy Hao of DUE was also honored as the top scorer.
