Green university DUE project: The start of the green journey

After more than 3 months of operation, on the morning of January 24, the Green University DUE project officially launched to students of the University of Economics - University of Economics with the Opening Day activity. The event was honored with the presence of Ms. Huynh Le Phuong Thao - Representative of Da Nang Business Incubator (DNES); towards the University of Da Nang, there were MSc. Nguyen Thi Kim Anh - Student Union President, Deputy Secretary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; towards the University of Economics, there were Assoc.Prof. Ph.D. Vo Thi Thuy Anh - Vice-Rector, Ph.D. Nguyen Thanh Dat - Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, MSc. Tran Thi Thanh Thao - Student Union President and 120 students of the University.

The opening show

 Right after the opening performance, delegates and students were introduced to the Green University DUE (GUD) project through a vivid video. Accordingly, GUD was a pioneering project of the students of the University of Economics - the University of Da Nang with the mission of creating a green living environment for staff, faculties, students and the community contributing to changing the mindset, consciousness and environmentally-friendly lifestyle through practical and close projects, stemming from the realities facing the University of Economics. From that, the project contributed to environmental protection, changes in the school landscape and developed a sustainable green lifestyle.

 Sharing about the initial effectiveness of the project more than 3 months of implementation, Ph.D. Nguyen Thanh Dat said the initial step of the project received attention from both lecturers and students. Many positive results and figures have proven for efforts in changing the perception of green lifestyles for young people in recent years. This also proves that young people are very concerned about environmental issues and sustainable development.

 Speaking at the program, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh said that the School Board of Management highly appreciates the meaning and spirit of the young people so that the project can be strongly disseminated in the community. The school will continue to support and create conditions for members to develop the project, bringing the image of the University of Economics into a pioneering green school in universities, colleges and schools in the city.

To show the spirit of joining DUE students to protect the environment, change consciousness and green lifestyles in the community, the representative of the School Board, representatives of the Green Avengers program and project representatives has taken action to print leaves together to mark the commitment to the project.

 The organizers of the program "One Green Action Every Day" also awarded the "Green Living Soldier" award for students who successfully completed 25 green challenges. Besides, 3 pictures of the most meaningful environment for children at Le Lai Primary School were also honored by the Organizing Committee.

 The end of the program was a beautiful image when the delegates, students and children of Le Lai Primary School sang together in the song "This earth is ours". This is a meaningful message to realize the dream of a green community reaching beyond the university gates, as well as promoting the actions of the whole community to contribute to protecting the green planet.
