THE VIETNAMESE WOMEN’S DAY CEREMONY (20/10): HONORING THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN ALL ASPECTS

In the afternoon of October 19th, the ceremony of the 90th year establishment of the Vietnam Women’s Union (October 20th) at the University of Economics was solemnly and warmly held with the participation of all female members of the University’s Trade Union. Attending the ceremony, from the University of Danang’s Trade Union were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Giang Thi Kim Lien – Leader of Women Committee and Dr. Le Mai Anh – Member of Executive Committee. From the University of Economics were the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh – Vice Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Huy – Vice Rector, Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Thu – President of the Trade Union and all members in the University’s Executive Committee of the Trade Union.

Opening the ceremony, the representative of the Board of Rectors - Assoc. Prof. Dr Le Van Huy sent his best wishes to all female employees of the University on the Vietnamese Women’s Day. This occasion was not only an opportunity to honor the role of women both at work and home but also an affirmation of the great contribution of all female employees to the University development.

At the ceremony, female members of the Union were able to review the historical moments and the beauty of Vietnamese women through a meaningful documentary film. In addition, the summarizing video made by the University’s Trade Union review the achievements in feminist activities and the image of its female members.

To honor the contributions of its female members, the Trade Union of the University of Danang awarded merit certificates to ̀ individuals; The Trade Union of the University of Economics rewarded 23 female members of the Trade Union.

A meaningful activity at the ceremony was honoring 12 new female doctors who completed their study pathway and returned to the University for educational careers. The University’s Trade Union also wishes that these new doctors will successfully complete their duties in all fields, especially in education - training.

Faced with the reality that many female employees do not fully understand the regulations on regimes and policies, the Trade Union of the University of Economics in coordination with the Trade Union of the University of Danang shared information and knowledge related to the rights and benefits of female employees. Through many years of experience, Dr. Le Mai Anh presented the current regulations and policies as well as updated useful information for women to protect their own legitimate rights and interests during the working process. The sharing session of Dr. Le Mai Anh is also an opportunity for leaders of the University of Economics and female members of the trade union to share, directly discuss, and answer questions about regimes and policies for women.
