STUDENT RESEARCH CONFERENCE 2020: FACULTY OF TOURISM CONTINUES KEEP OUR IMPECCABLE  WITH THE FIRST PRIZE OF STUDENT TOPIC

On the afternoon of July 3, 2020, the University of Economics (DUE), University of Danang solemnly held a Students Research Conference 2020. In this conference, the Faculty of Tourism participated with 2 individual topics of students Le Thi Minh Huyen and Ngo Vi Dan from class 43K03.1CLC.

With a research passion, constantly exploring and learning, from the beginning of this semester, Minh Huyen and Vi Dan have started with their own topics with their seriousness and diligence:

- Student Le Thi Minh Huyen - class 43K03.1CLC with the topic: " Factors affecting the turnover intention of employees in the aftermath of COVID-19: The case of Danang hotels " under the guidance of Dr Su Ngoc Diep.

- Student Ngo Vi Dan - class 43K03.1CLC with the topic: " Factors affecting resident's support for tourism development: The case study in Da Nang, Vietnam " under the guidance of Lecturer Doan Thi Hoai Thanh (MBA).

Experiencing many difficulties because of the recent epidemic, Minh Huyen shared:  "Since this is the first time I participate in scientific research, I am still quite confused about where to start. But Dr. Diep with her strong experience of has helped me a lot in the process of finding documents, guiding me on how to do it effectively. Besides, because of the Covid-19 epidemic, I also faced many difficulties. The difficulty in getting data can only be done by online survey instead of meeting in person because, in Danang, most hotels must close during social isolation. Presenting my topic in English is also a challenge for me because I must articulate the topic coherently, obviously. It takes a lot more effort but worth it."

When asked why she chose the topic of local residents' support in the process of tourism development in Da Nang, student Vi Dan confided: "Looking from reality, in many destinations, no one has an effective tourism development strategy for destination if the support of local residents has not been properly taken into account, and Da Nang is no exception. Moreover, as far as I know, there is almost no research that has the full research questions or the research aspect only focusing on one region with 1-2 tourism strengths, the abundance of the tourism strength is not concerned. Therefore, I decided to carry out this topic both to synthesize and supplement the previous studies, it can be applied in the practice of the place where I live, Da Nang city - a destination with diverse tourism resources and has never appeared in previous scientific research papers."

Thanks to her outstanding efforts, student Le Thi Minh Huyen excellently won the First Prize in subcommittee No. 3, following the success of the Research group Nguyen Ngoc An Nguyen, Nguyen Thi Nhu Quynh, and Tran Phuong Thao in the academic year 2018. Student Ngo Vi Dan lacks a little luck, but this will definitely be an unforgettable experience of her student life. We hope she will continue to nurture her love of research and have new ideas, new topics in the future. Besides, the Faculty of Tourism also congratulates Tran Thanh Phuong Thao who also won the First Prize with a group project which she collabs with other students from the Faculty of E-commerce.

Congratulations to all of you, you are the pride of the Faculty of Tourism, and a shining example for the next generations to follow.
