Promote new directions for cooperation with Sejong University, Korea


On the afternoon of July 10, the delegation of UD including Dr. Dang Huu Man - Deputy Head of Research and International Cooperation Department of University of Economics and Mr. Dinh Hoang Quan - Officer of International Cooperation Department, UD visited and worked with Sejong University, Korea. The meeting also included the presence of Ms. Tran Thi To Trinh - Deputy Chief of Administration Office of Foreign Affairs Department of Danang City.

On the side of Sejong University, there are Prof. Seungbin Moon – Vice President and officials in charge of international cooperation..

At the meeting, the two sides exchanged issues on international education, reviewed the results of cooperation in recent years and discussed the plan for implementing long-term cooperation programs. Both sides agreed to continue to promote cooperation in the exchange of students and lecturers.

On behalf of Sejong University, Prof. Moon Seungbin highly appreciated the support that the University of Economics offered to students of Sejong University. He also expressed his hope of receiving and supporting students from the University of Economics to take part in a short exchange course. As for the joint program between the University of Economics and Sejong University, he committed to reduce tuition fee for Vietnamese students to transfer to the program 2+2 in Business Administration, Tourism, Hotel Management.

Prof. Moon said that in 2015, two universities has the opportunity to sign a memorandum of cooperation. However, in the past years, cooperation between the two sides has not achieved the desired effect. Through this meeting, the two sides will develop a specific plan for the memorandum to be properly promoted.

Through the recommendations of Prof. Moon, Dr. Dang Huu Man said he would communicate with the management board and departments in order to work out the most feasible cooperation.

Sejong University is a private university located in Seoul, South Korea. The history of Sejong University dates to 1940 when a trust established the Kyung Sung Humanities Institute. In 1978, the academy was named Sejong University in honor of Sejong the Great, the fourth king of the Chosun Dynasty and overseer of the Korean alphabet Hangeul. Sejong University has several colleges: College of Liberal Arts, College of Social Sciences, College of Business Administration, College of Hospitality and Tourism Management, College of Natural Sciences, College of Life Sciences, College of Electronics and Information Engineering, College of Engineering, and College of Arts and Physical Education, and has a Faculty of General Education and seven graduate schools. Sejong University is known for its standing in hospitality and tourism management, dancing, animation and rhythmic gymnastics. The College of Arts and Physical Education and the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management are top ranked in the country.
